Treatment using drugs
This is only sensible if hair loss is due to an illness. An expert, preferably a dermatologist, should always be consulted for an exact diagnosis. Medication used to combat androgenetic, typical male hair loss often only works preventatively and under some circumstances creates side-effects and has to be taken for a lifetime. This also has to be funded and is not covered by the National Health Service.
Hair replacement
Hair replacements made of artificial or real hair in the form of wigs, toupees or hairpieces require constant and, in the long run, costly care provided by hairdressers and other professionals. The same applies to hair extensions or a thickening through ?welding? artificial or real hair to existing hair.
Artificial and Real Hair Implants
Synthetic or real hair is implanted into the scalp respectively using this method. As it does not use living hair cells there is a danger of serious inflammation. It cannot be recommended due to the risks it poses.
